Before your first session

Two minutes of health questions.

The standard pre-exercise questionnaire every new client answers before the first session. Nothing is saved on this website: your answers become an email that you send to Stevie yourself.

Health

Answer honestly. A "Yes" does not stop you training; it tells Stevie what to plan around, and sometimes means a quick word with your GP first.

1. Has a doctor ever said you have a heart condition, or that you should only do physical activity recommended by a doctor?
2. Do you feel pain in your chest when you do physical activity?
3. In the past month, have you had chest pain when you were not doing physical activity?
4. Do you lose your balance because of dizziness, or do you ever lose consciousness?
5. Do you have a bone or joint problem (for example back, knee or hip) that could be made worse by a change in your physical activity?
6. Is a doctor currently prescribing medication for blood pressure, a heart condition, diabetes, or anything else we should know about?
7. Are you pregnant, or have you given birth in the last six months?
8. Do you know of any other reason why you should not do physical activity?

The terms (tap to read)

Who these terms are between. These terms are the agreement between you and Stevie Fulton trading as Sanctuary Fitness, Spectrum House, 1A North Avenue, Clydebank Business Park, G81 2DR ("I", "me", "the gym"). They cover the 8-Week Package, one-to-one Personal Training, gift vouchers, the members area and anything else you buy from me. By paying a deposit or a balance, or by attending a session, you accept them. Keep a copy; the current version is always at clydebankpt.com/terms.

Booking and paying. The 8-Week Package (£205) and the one-to-one block (£295) are paid in full before the first session, by bank transfer, by the Revolut payment link I send you, or by card in the gym. A place is confirmed only when the money has arrived. There is no contract beyond the block you have paid for, no direct debit, no joining fee and no notice period. Prices include VAT where it applies.

Holding a place. A deposit of £68.50, a third of the 8-Week Package, holds a place on a named start date. It comes off the balance, which is due before the first session. If the balance is not paid by the first session the place can be given to someone else and the deposit stays as credit. A deposit is not refunded in cash; if your plans change it moves to the next start date or stays as credit for a later package. Places are limited (classes are capped at 30), so I cannot hold a place without a deposit.

No cooling-off period on a dated block. Every block and every deposit is sold for a specific start date, and places are limited. Because of that, the 14-day cancellation right in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply: regulation 28(1)(h) excludes services related to leisure activities that are sold for a specific date or period. You are told this before you pay, here and beside every pay button. If you change your mind after paying, your money is not lost: it stays as credit under the next rule.

Credit, not cash refunds. There are no cash refunds, before or after a block starts. If you stop before or during a block, whatever you have paid stays with me as credit against a later package or block, in your name, for 12 months. Credit is not transferable to another person and cannot be exchanged for cash. If I have to cancel a whole block and cannot offer a replacement, the unused part stays as credit and your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

Block dates and no freezes. The 8-Week Package runs from its published start date for eight weeks and ends on its published end date. Blocks are not frozen, paused or extended, and sessions are not carried over or transferred to anyone else. If you are ill, injured or away, tell me before you go; anything you cannot use stays as credit under the rule above and I plan the way back in with you. The block is priced on this basis, which is what keeps it at £205.

One-to-one Personal Training. The one-to-one block is ten private sessions, usually two a week over five weeks, and all ten must be used within ten weeks of the first session unless we agree otherwise in writing before the block starts. A session cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or not attended, counts as used. The first late cancellation in a block is let go with a reminder; after that they count. If I cancel a session, it is rescheduled and never counts against you.

Classes and booking. Classes are 50 minutes, capped at 30 people and booked in the members area: each Sunday the whole week of classes opens for booking. Classes are unlimited within the 8-Week Package, so a missed class costs nothing; but if a class is full and you book and do not turn up twice in a row, you book the following week on the day rather than in advance, so the place goes to someone who will use it. Cancel a class in the app if you cannot make it. Turn up in time for the warm-up; for your own safety I may not let you join a class more than ten minutes after it has started.

If I have to cancel. If a class or session is cancelled by me (illness, weather, the building, an emergency) it is moved or, for one-to-one, rescheduled. If the timetable changes during a block, I give as much notice as I can and a like-for-like session is offered. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to a service carried out with reasonable care and skill.

Your health and the questionnaire. Everyone completes the health questionnaire before the first session and it must be honest and complete. Tell me straight away about any change: a new diagnosis, an injury, medication, pregnancy. If the questionnaire flags something, or if you are pregnant or have recently given birth, I will ask for your GP's go-ahead before we start. I can stop a session, or pause your training with your money kept as credit, if I believe training is unsafe for you. You are responsible for telling me when something hurts and for working within your own limits during a session.

Age. Nobody under 14 trains here. 14 and 15 year olds train at classes or Personal Training only with a parent or guardian in the gym for the whole session and with that adult's written consent on the questionnaire. 16 and over train on their own. Under 18s pay through a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on their behalf.

Children who come along. Younger children can come along to a one-to-one session, stay in the spot we agree away from the equipment, and remain their parent's responsibility at all times. They can come to a small-group Personal Training slot only if everyone in that slot is happy with it. Children never use the equipment. How that works.

Risk and your responsibility. Exercise carries a risk of injury. I coach every session, check technique and set loads with you, but I cannot remove that risk. You agree to follow my instructions, use equipment only as shown, wear suitable footwear and clothing, not train under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and stop and tell me if you feel unwell. Nothing on this site, in the Nutrition Guide or in a plan is medical advice; check with your GP before changing medication, or if you have a medical condition.

Liability. I am responsible for death or personal injury caused by my negligence, and for anything else the law does not allow me to exclude, and nothing in these terms limits that. Beyond that, I am not responsible for injury or loss caused by you ignoring instructions, using equipment without being shown, not disclosing a health condition, or by something outside my control. My total liability to you for anything else is limited to the amount you paid for the block in question. Sanctuary Fitness is insured with Insure4Sport.

Belongings. Bring as little as you can and keep valuables with you or in the spot I show you. I am not responsible for loss of or damage to belongings or vehicles in the gym, the building or the car park, except where caused by my negligence.

Behaviour. This is a small gym and everyone has paid for the place beside them. I can refuse entry or end a block, with the unused part kept as credit, for anyone who is abusive, threatening, discriminatory or repeatedly disruptive to me or to other clients, or who damages equipment on purpose. Serious cases end the block with no credit. It has not happened yet.

Photos, video and names. No client is photographed, filmed or named without written consent on the questionnaire. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by message and the photo or video comes down within a day of you asking. Other clients may appear in the background of gym footage; if you do not want to be in any footage, tell me and I will keep you out of shot.

The members area, the Nutrition Guide and your plan. The members area password is for clients on a current block and must not be shared; it changes each block. The Nutrition Guide, recipes, plans and anything else I give you are written for your own use, stay my copyright and must not be copied, sold or passed to anyone else. You keep what you have downloaded when your block ends; access to the members area itself ends with the block and returns when you renew.

Gift vouchers. Vouchers are valid for twelve months from purchase, for the package named on the voucher, one voucher per person, not exchangeable for cash and not refundable. The person using the voucher completes the questionnaire and accepts these terms like any other client. Gift vouchers.

Renewing and the two-for-one. You can renew into the next 8-Week block at any time. Bring a friend who is new to the gym and not on the current package and you each pay half of the package price, both paid before the start date. The offer is one friend per renewal, cannot be combined with another discount, and both places are subject to space. Every block is eight weeks; there is no longer block.

Prices. The price you pay is the price published on clydebankpt.com/prices on the day you pay, or the price I quote you in writing. A price change never affects a block that has already been paid for or a deposit already taken.

How we communicate. Bookings, changes and questions go by WhatsApp or email, and I reply within one working day, usually much sooner. Anything important (a cancelled block, a change to these terms, a refund) is confirmed in writing. Keep your contact details up to date.

If something is wrong. If something is not right, message or email me and I reply within 48 hours. Most things are sorted in that message. If we cannot sort it between us, you keep what you have paid as credit and we part on good terms. You can also complain to Trading Standards or, for a service you paid for remotely, use the Citizens Advice consumer service.

First aid and safety. Stevie is a qualified first aider and a first aid kit is kept in the gym. In an emergency I will call 999 and, if you have given one, your emergency contact from the questionnaire. Fire exits and the assembly point are pointed out on your first visit; if the alarm sounds, leave your things and go.

Your data. The site uses no cookies and stores nothing you type. Your questionnaire, messages and measurements are kept only while you are a client plus one year, then deleted, or sooner on request. I never sell or share your data, except with emergency services if needed. The privacy notice has the detail and your rights under UK data protection law.

The law. These terms are governed by the law of Scotland and any dispute is dealt with by the Scottish courts. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Changes to these terms. This page is dated. If a term changes, the date changes and the new term applies from the next block, never to one already paid for. The version you agreed to is the one dated on the questionnaire you signed.

Add your email and tap Send, and it comes straight to me. Health answers are emailed to me only, never kept on the website.

If you answered Yes to any of the heart, chest pain or dizziness questions, please check with your GP before your first session. I will ask about it at the consult either way. How your details are handled.
