Prices and paying
- How much is a personal trainer per hour in Clydebank?
- I do not sell by the hour. One-to-one is £295 for ten sessions over five weeks, which works out at £29.50 a session with the programme, nutrition plan and measurements included. Every price is on one page.
- Is there a monthly membership?
- No. Everything is sold as a block: the 8-Week Package at £205 or ten one-to-one sessions at £295. You pay once, train the block, and decide at the end.
- Do I have to sign a contract?
- No contract, no direct debit, no notice period. The block ends and you choose whether to do another one. Most people do; nobody is tied in.
- Can I pay in instalments?
- Message me. I would rather sort a way for you to start than lose you over the way it is paid. For the January start you can pay in three: £68.50 holds your place, then £68.50 on 1 Dec and £68 on 1 Jan, if you sign up by 1 Nov.
- Is the free consult really free?
- Yes. Twenty minutes in the gym or on WhatsApp, no card details, nothing to sign. If it is not for you, you have lost twenty minutes.
- Do you sell gift vouchers?
- Yes, for either package. The gift voucher page explains how it works; you pay by bank transfer and I confirm by WhatsApp.
- What does the £205 pay for?
- Eight weeks of every class on the timetable, small-group Personal Training sessions, a nutrition plan written for you, and measurements in week one and week eight. The full breakdown is here.
Classes
- What if I miss a week of the block?
- The block runs to its dates: there are no freezes and nothing is passed on to somebody else. What you have paid for and not used stays as credit against a later block, so a bad fortnight costs you sessions and not money. If you know a week is coming, tell me before it and we will get the sessions in around it.
- What classes do you run?
- Sanctuary Conditioning, Strength, Functional and Total Body. All fifty minutes, all coached, all in the 8-Week Package. The classes page has what happens in each hour.
- What time are the morning classes?
- 6am classes Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Done by seven, so you are at work by eight.
- What time are the evening classes?
- 5:40pm classes Monday to Wednesday. Home by seven with the evening done.
- How many people are in a class?
- Classes are capped at 30. I coach the whole class rather than lead from the front, so everyone gets watched.
- Do I need to book classes?
- Yes, with me, so the numbers stay under the cap. A message the night before is enough.
- Can I try one class before I commit?
- The first step is the free consult, in the gym or on WhatsApp. There is no free week at the moment; the package is the way in, and there is no contract if it turns out not to be for you.
- Are the classes suitable for beginners?
- Yes. Every movement has an easier version and I scale people on the day. Beginners train beside regulars at their own level. What the first class is like.
- Is HIIT safe if I am unfit or heavy?
- Yes, because every jump has a low-impact option and you pick the version. The clock is the same for everyone; the intensity is yours. Anything medical, ask your GP first and bring the answer.
Personal Training
- What is the difference between the package and one-to-one?
- The package is coached classes plus small-group Personal Training and nutrition, £205. One-to-one is just you and me, ten private sessions, £295. Which to do first is a guide of its own.
- When are the one-to-one slots?
- One-to-one runs Monday 4pm and 6:30pm; Tuesday and Wednesday 7am to 10am, 4pm and 6:30pm; Thursday 8am to 10am and 4pm; Friday 7am to 10am; Saturday 7:30am and 10am. Tell me your shifts or the school run and we find a slot that fits.
- Can I bring my children to a session?
- To one-to-one sessions, yes. They sit where you can see them, with a tablet or a book, and you get your hour. Not to classes. The kids-welcome page has the detail.
- Do you train couples or friends together?
- Yes, in the same block at their own levels. How that works.
- Do you write a programme for me?
- Yes. One-to-one clients get a programme written for their goal and progressed every week. Package clients get the class programme plus the small-group sessions built round what they need.
- Do you do online coaching?
- No. Everything here is in the gym, coached in person. The tools, recipes and tracker on the site are there for the days between sessions.
Starting
- When does the next block start?
- Monday the 4th of January 2027. Places go by class size. Message me START and I will hold one.
- What happens at the first session?
- You are weighed and measured privately, we go through the health questionnaire, your nutrition plan gets written and your first sessions get booked. Then you train. The first-visit page covers the door, the parking and what to bring.
- What should I bring?
- Trainers, comfortable clothes, water. No gloves, no belt, no special kit.
- Where do I park?
- Free parking at the door of Spectrum House, Clydebank Business Park. Singer station is a short walk if you are coming by train.
- Is there somewhere to change and shower?
- Changing space and toilets, yes. Ask me about showers when you book. Most people arrive ready and shower at home or at work.
- I have not exercised in years. Where do I start?
- At the free consult. Then the first week is measurements and the easy versions of everything. Nearly everyone in the gym started exactly there. The beginners page.
- Am I too old for this?
- No. Clients are in their twenties to their sixties and beyond. The over-60s page and the over-40s page say how it is scaled.
Nutrition
- Is a diet plan included?
- A nutrition plan written for you is part of both packages. Calorie and protein targets you can hold, foods from the shops you already use, nothing to buy from me.
- Do I need to buy supplements or shakes?
- No. The supplements guide lists the four that are worth the money and none of them are sold here.
- How much protein should I eat?
- Protein at every meal is the simple rule; members get the portion table for their appetite. The calculator gives you a number, and the cheat sheet shows 30g in 25 foods.
- Can I still drink?
- Yes, but alcohol works against everything in the plan. Fewer drinks, water between them, a number set before you go out. The alcohol calculator shows what a normal week costs in calories.
- Do you have recipes?
- Thirty high-protein recipes under £3 a portion, most under twenty minutes, on the recipes page, with a shopping list builder and a meal builder.
- What should I eat before a 6am class?
- Nothing, or next to nothing: water, coffee if you want it, half a banana if you get light-headed. The breakfast after is the meal that matters. Full guide.
Results
- How much weight will I lose in eight weeks?
- I will not give you a number, because I would be guessing and you would hold me to it. You are measured at both ends and the tape tells the truth. What eight weeks really looks like.
- Why do you measure with a tape rather than scales?
- Scales move with water, salt, sleep and the time of the month. A tape around the waist doesn’t. The tape often moves before the scales do, which is why I measure both. The longer answer.
- Are the before-and-after photos real?
- Yes. I take them myself, week one and week eight, same spot and same light, and clients choose whether to share them. The results page explains how.
- What happens after the eight weeks?
- We sit down with both sets of numbers and you choose: another block, one-to-one, or a break with the plan to keep going yourself. The three options.
- Will I get bulky lifting weights?
- No. Getting bulky takes years of eating and training for it on purpose. Eight weeks of coached strength work makes you stronger, firmer and usually smaller.
The gym
- Where exactly is Sanctuary Fitness?
- Spectrum House, 1A North Avenue, Clydebank Business Park, G81 2DR. Directions and a map.
- Is it a big gym or a small one?
- Small, and private. No membership floor, no queue for a rack, and nobody training beside you who is not in your session. Never more than 30 people in a class.
- Is it all young people?
- No. The people in the 6am classes are mostly getting it done before work, and the 5:40pm ones after it; the range runs from twenties to sixties in the same session, because everything is scaled on the day. There are pages for over 40s and over 60s if that is the worry.
- Do I have to be a member of anything?
- No. There is no membership underneath either price and nothing to cancel. You pay for a block and the block runs.
- What areas do you cover?
- Clients come from Clydebank, Dalmuir, Drumchapel, Old Kilpatrick, Bearsden, Milngavie, Dumbarton, Knightswood, Yoker and the West End of Glasgow. There is a page for each area in the footer.
- Is the gym accessible?
- Message me with what you need, step-free access, a quieter session, a chair, a longer warm-up, and I will tell you exactly what the building and the session can offer. The accessibility page has more.
- Can I visit before I decide?
- Yes. The free ten-minute chat comes first, at the gym or by WhatsApp or email: start here. Nothing to sign and nothing to bring.
- Did the gym have a different name before?
- Yes. It became Sanctuary Fitness in summer 2026. The coaching did not change with the name, and neither did the coach. The short version of the story.
Working on Clydebank Business Park
- Is this the gym in the park itself?
- Yes. Spectrum House, 1A North Avenue, inside Clydebank Business Park. The front door is what3words ///pretty.needed.chill and there is free parking right outside it, so there is no drive and no parking hunt on a working day. The staff page.
- What is the staff price and who gets it?
- £185 for the 8-Week Package instead of £205, for anyone employed by a company based on the park, contractors on site included. Different building, different firm, same park, same price.
- What do I have to show?
- A work email, a pass or a payslip at the free consult, once.
- Can I get here at 6am and still be at my desk?
- The early classes finish at 6:50am and you are already on the park. The evening ones are at 5:40pm, which is after most shifts on the estate rather than in the middle of them.
- Is there a lunchtime class?
- No. There is no lunchtime class on the timetable. There is no lunchtime slot either: Personal Training runs mornings 6am to 10am and late afternoons 4pm to 7:20pm mid-week, plus 7:30am, 8:30am and 10am on Saturday, and the classes are at 6am and 5:40pm.
- Do I have to tell my work?
- No. It is your money and your hour. If your employer does want to pay for a few people at once, Stevie invoices the company and every place is still at the park price: how a company block works. If it is a colleague rather than the firm, refer a colleague.
Health
- I have a bad back. Can I still train?
- Almost always, with the movements changed. Kettlebell hinges before barbells, box squats before free squats, no rep that changes your face. How we train around a bad back. Pain down a leg or numbness: GP first.
- I am on weight-loss injections. Is training different?
- Strength training matters more, to keep the muscle while the weight goes, and the protein target matters more still. The page on it. Your prescriber knows you are training.
- Can I train through the menopause?
- Yes. Strength work helps keep your bones strong after the menopause, and plenty of women find it helps their sleep and mood too. Coached quietly, scaled on the day, nothing announced. The menopause page.
- Can I train after having a baby?
- After your six-week check and with your GP or midwife happy, yes, starting gently. The postnatal page has the caveats and the starting point.
- Do I need a doctor's note?
- Everyone fills in the health questionnaire before the first session. If it flags something, I will ask you to check with your GP before we start. That is for your safety, not paperwork.
