Strength training · Clydebank
Get
properly
strong.
Strength training in Clydebank with barbells, dumbbells and kettlebells, coached every set. Beginners learn the lifts from scratch; experienced lifters get programming and a spotter who knows their name.
- Barbell and Dumbbell classes Tuesday 5:40pm and Wednesday 6am: squat, press, pull and hinge with technique watched every set.
- Personal Training slots for the lifts that need one-to-one eyes: deadlift set-up, overhead press, first pull-ups.
- Progressive programming. Loads and reps tracked so you are lifting more in week eight than week one.
- Over-30s friendly. Joint-friendly progressions and warm-ups built in. Strength is the best thing you can do for the next thirty years.

What you learn
The five lifts that matter.
Everything else is a variation of these, and all five are coached from the ground up.
Squat and hinge
Goblet squat to back squat; kettlebell deadlift to barbell. Knees and backs looked after.
Press and pull
Dumbbell press to barbell bench and overhead; rows and assisted pull-ups.
Carry and core
Farmer carries, loaded walks and bracing, so strength shows up outside the gym.

Questions
Good to know.
I have never lifted a barbell. Where do I start?
A Personal Training slot or the Wednesday 6am class. You will learn with an empty bar or dumbbells first, and progress when the movement is right.
Will strength training make me bulky?
No. It makes you stronger, leaner and harder to injure. Bulk takes years of deliberate eating, and you would notice long before.
Do you track my lifts?
Yes. Programmes are written down and loads are progressed week to week.
