Tonight in Clydebank
What is on
tonight.Three coached evening classes a week at Spectrum House, in the business park off Kilbowie Road. Here is which night is which, and what to do about tonight. Every session coached by Stevie.
Never more than 30 people in a class. Minimum age 14: 14 and 15 year olds train with a parent or guardian in the gym, 16 and over train on their own. The terms have the detail.
Every evening of the week
- Monday Sanctuary Conditioning at 5:40pm, 50 minutes, coached
- Tuesday Sanctuary Strength at 5:40pm, 50 minutes, coached
- Wednesday Sanctuary Functional at 5:40pm, 50 minutes, coached
- Thursday no class. Personal Training slots at 4pm, 5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm, 6:30pm.
- Friday nothing in the evening.
- Saturday nothing in the evening.
- Sunday nothing in the evening.
That is the evening timetable and it does not move. 5:40pm classes Monday to Wednesday, finishing at 6:30pm, then Thursday is kept clear of classes for Personal Training and Friday evening is nobody's idea of a night to be coached.
Can I train tonight?
Probably, but not by walking in. This is a private coached gym, not a gym floor with a turnstile: there are never more than 30 people in a class, and Stevie is coaching all of them. So the answer to tonight is one message. If there is room, you are in it; if there is not, he will tell you which night this week there is.
If tonight is one of the nights with no class, the Personal Training slots are the answer, and on a Thursday they run at 4pm, 5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm and 6:30pm.
What tonight looks like
You park outside the door, come in, get changed. The class starts on the minute. A warm-up everybody does together, then the session: on a Monday that is intervals with kettlebells, sleds and bikes; on a Tuesday it is barbells and dumbbells with the load picked for you; on a Wednesday it is TRX, carries and a conditioning finisher. Fifty coached minutes and you are back out. Nobody is filming themselves and nobody is waiting on a rack.
Before your first one
A free ten-minute consult comes first, in the gym or on WhatsApp: what you want, what has got in the way before, anything sore. Then Stevie picks the night that suits you rather than the one that suits the timetable. What your first visit is like, and what runs on each day if you would rather read it by day.

Questions
Can I just turn up tonight?
No, and that is on purpose. Classes are capped at 30 and every one is coached, so Stevie needs to know you are coming. Message before the session and he will tell you whether there is room in it tonight.
What if tonight is a night with no class?
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings have no class on the timetable. Thursday has Personal Training slots at 4pm, 5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm and 6:30pm and Friday has the 6am class the next morning. The full week is on the timetable.
How long is a class?
50 minutes. The 5:40pm classes finish at 6:30pm, so you are out and home before the evening is gone.
Do I need to be fit to come to one tonight?
No. Every class is scaled to the person doing it on the day, and most people who start here have not trained in years. Say it is your first one and it gets scaled down before it gets scaled up.
What does it cost to come to the evening classes?
The classes are part of the 8-Week Package, £205 for the block, which includes every class on the timetable and the Personal Training slots. Before any of that there is a free ten-minute consult.
Not tonight? Saturday morning, the 6am classes, or the should-I-train-tonight check if the real question is whether you have it in you.
